If you're searching for a therapist adept with issues relating to intersectionality; I've got you covered! As a mixed race (black, white and indigenous) person of color, I certainly know what it's like to walk between worlds and never feel quite at home in any of them. As another layer of identity, I have been an "out" lesbian for 25 years, and am masculine-of-center in my gender presentation. This intersectionality and feeling as if I don't fit in anywhere was one of the things that inspired me to do this work: providing a home and healing space for other misfits, a place where they don't have to explain their multiple identities to someone who might never understand. I specialize in intersectional identities, LGBTQ and trans/nonbinary-affirming therapy, and therapy for BIPOC folks trying to navigate life under white supremacy. I have an extensive history in supporting people dealing with depression, anxiety, impostor syndrome, self-esteem issues, trauma, and addiction.
Working in mental health and addiction services, and several more years of activist and volunteer work. Who are my people? Misfits, helpers, artists, activists, people struggling with issues related to race, culture, identity or sexuality... anyone striving to be better today than they were yesterday!
I have specialized training in trauma, racial trauma, and am a certified domestic violence advocate through the state of California.
