As a licensed clinician, with over ten years of therapy experience, and many more on the other side of the couch, I approach this work with a unique passion and approach for each individual. I consider it my honor and privilege to be let inside your world.
I‘m a queer, non-binary, plural, ethically non-monogamous, ADHD/autistic, kinky person who lives with chronic illness and pain who comes from an Ashkenazi Jewish background.
Above all I approach therapy with you as a human experience. The modalities I use are ones I strongly believe in and I offer you an individualized experience within these modalities and also provide information regarding how these modalities actually work and offer you choices to help empower yourself. However, it’s not just about these modalities, it’s about the actual human experience within our therapy relationship.
I integrate somatic techniques, parts work, EMDR, attachment work, mindfulness, self compassion focused therapy, as well as some DBT and CBT informed therapy. What does all this mean? I assist you in bringing together the connection between your body and your mind and you end up with a strong foundation of skills as well as a deeper understanding of yourself.
Have you been to therapy before for trauma and not found it effective? Trauma/Unresolved Trauma/Attachment Trauma/PTSD/C-PTSD are some of my areas of expertise being a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I also work with what is known as Religious Trauma Syndrome, a relatively new term specific to trauma experienced by those who were part of high control groups. My Jewish background helps inform my understanding of epigenetic trauma, with the understanding that my experience does not speak for others, even within the Jewish community.
Are you part of the kink/BDSM communities or seeking to explore this part of your identity? Have you ever had a therapist judge you on bringing this up? Have ever just not felt comfortable bringing this up? Well, as a queer non-binary ethically non-monogamous kink-identified therapist I understand that this part of your identity andnot a pathology.
Does any of this mean I am going to try and move you towards ethical non monogamy or kink/BDSM? Nope! It means that this is a safe place to be you or explore those ideas. And if that’s not you? I welcome you as well. Finding a space to let down your guard and just be you.
Other pathologized groups such as theethically non-monogamous (or those curious) as well as sex workers are those whom are often part of my therapy community. The LGBTQIA++ community is passionately served at Your Healing Begins Here.
I am able to provide services for the entire state of CA as well as the state of FL.
